The honest maths behind every bet

BetStrategy is a free site for UK punters who want to know what a bet is worth before they place it.

Between bookmaker blogs and tipsters

Search for a betting strategy and you'll find two kinds of page. Bookmaker blogs that won't tell you the house always has the edge, and tipsters promising a system that can't lose. Neither helps much.

We sit in the middle. We build calculators that show you exactly what a bet pays. We write guides that explain how bets and odds work. And we test popular strategies with real maths, then tell you what we found, even when the answer is "this loses".

Who runs it

BetStrategy is run by Steve. He decides what goes on the site, reviews every guide before it's published and answers the emails.

How we check our work

  • Every calculator runs on one calculation engine, which we test against hand worked examples before each update goes live.
  • Every worked example in our guides is run through that same engine, so the numbers in an article match the numbers in the calculator.
  • We describe rules that can change, like place terms or bookmaker bonuses, as general rules. We always tell you to check the terms on your own bet slip.
  • Each guide shows the date it was last updated. If we find a mistake, we fix it and update the date.

What we won't do

  • We won't tell you any bet or system is guaranteed to win.
  • We won't present betting as a way to earn money or fix money worries.
  • We won't write for anyone under 18.

How the site is paid for

The calculators and guides are free. In future we may link to bookmakers and other betting services and earn a commission if you sign up through us. Our terms and privacy notice explain how those links work. They won't change what our calculators show or what our guides say.

Independent

BetStrategy isn't a bookmaker. We don't take bets, hold money or settle bets. If a bet has been settled differently from what our calculator shows, your bookmaker's terms decide the outcome, so ask them to explain their working.

Contact

Spotted a mistake, got a bet type you'd like a calculator for, or want to work with us? Email [email protected].

We can't help with disputes about your bookmaker account. Contact your bookmaker first. If that doesn't sort it, they'll tell you which independent dispute service they use.
